Ambulatory Care Center

The Ambulatory Care Center at Kosciusko Community Hospital provides 17 private pre/recovery rooms. Being located in the SurgiCenter Care area allows for easier access, while providing comfort and privacy to our patients and families. Services are provided on an outpatient basis Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Ambulatory Care staff works in conjunction with the surgical team and physicians in the treatment of pre-surgical and post-surgical patients. Orthopedic procedures comprise the majority of cases treated in the ACC. General surgery, gynecology, endoscopy, podiatry, and Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) are equally prevalent cases seen by the surgical team. Other services provided include blood transfusions, intravenous therapy, medication administration, pre and post radiological procedures, port draws, and other outpatient procedures.

The Ambulatory Care Center provides care for all ages. Adults and adolescents make up 80% of those served with pediatric cases comprising 20%. Patient education is viewed as a major component of outpatient services due to the short interim of stay. Pre Admission Testing PAT) is offered to all patients.  Family involvement in care is encouraged and follow-up is attempted through phone calls following discharge.

Outpatient surgery comprised 90% of the procedures in 2009 with 4538 patients served. 2011 will be an exciting challenge, as more surgical procedures will be done on a same-day basis with our increase in medical staff surgeon availability here at Kosciusko Community Hospital. The dedicated and professional staff will make adjustments to continue providing care that enables Kosciusko Community Hospital patient an efficient road to wellness.

The Day of Surgery:

It's very important to follow your doctor's instructions concerning when to stop eating, what medications to take and when to arrive.  Check in at the Information Desk at the front of the hospital and you will be directed to the SurgiCenter Hostess desk.  You and your family will be escorted to your private surgical suite.  Make sure you bring a copy of your photo ID, insurance cards, a complete list of your medications and a copy of your living will.  Leave your valuables and large sums of money at home.

To support a safe environment, you will not be allowed to take anything to surgery with you, this includes your jewelry.  It's best to leave your personal items with your family.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
