NATIONAL ACCREDITATION
The Cancer Care Center recently received another 3-year accreditation for delivery of a comprehensive cancer program by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (CoC). The CoC establishes stringent guidelines used to evaluate cancer programs. According to the Commission on Cancer, accreditation is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous on-site evaluation process and review of their performance. Areas surveyed include the cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement.
