WARSAW, Indiana (May 28, 2010) – Mr. Stephen R. Miller, Chief Executive Officer at Kosciusko Community Hospital, has been honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award from Community Health Systems, one of the nation's leading systems of general acute-care hospitals. The organization includes Kosciusko Community Hospital and over 120 other hospitals in 29 states. The Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes hospital leaders who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to quality healthcare and operational excellence.

Miller joined KCH in 1985 serving as chief financial officer. He was promoted to chief financial officer at Lutheran Hospital in 2006. Miller returned to KCH in 2008 to serve as chief executive officer where his accomplishments include increased physician and employee satisfaction scores; increased inpatient and outpatient satisfaction scores; decreased employee turnover rates; increased patient volumes; increased medical staff recruitment; heightened focus on customer relations; improved patient care through a full time Hospitalist Program, Breast Care Clinic and consistent patient rounding; and planned the current 3-year renovation project to convert to all private rooms. Miller has focused on community relations as the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman and Government Issues committee member and the Grace College Women's Soccer Program advisor.
